Riding level required

Isla Blanca Extreme is rated Intermediate / Advanced. You'll ride 160-200 km in one day, about 70% off-road, with deep sand, compact sand and narrow single-track through mangroves. You should already be comfortable standing on the pegs, controlling the clutch at low speed and keeping the bike steady in loose ground. If you're new to sand, tell us when you book so your guide can adjust the pace and the extra off-road sections on the way back.

What to wear

  • Long, tough riding pants and a light long-sleeve top: the jungle is hot, but branches and sand scratch
  • Over-the-ankle boots (riding boots are best)
  • Gloves and sunglasses or goggles
  • Swimsuit and a small towel for the beach stop
  • Sunscreen and insect repellent
